The Temptation of the Wii Controller - Computers - Computer Games

Lately I've heard of a joke, "Two men was talking about the advancement of technology. A said that nowadays we have touch-screen phone, touch-screen Ipad, touch-screen blablabla, is there any possibility that one day we have touch-screen TV? Then B laughed, he said why do we need the touch-screen TV ? We have the remote controller. " That's right, it's too common to notice its importance or even existence because the remote controller can be found almost everywhere in the daily life, such as TV, air conditioner, fan and so on.

Ten years ago, almost everybody knew how to use remote controller, though only a small proportion of us knows the theory. However, ten years ago, could we imagine that the people from the TV can move according to our movement when holding a so called "Wii controller" ? I believe that would be tantalizing. But that really come true! Isn't that amazing cool gadgets?

As far as I am concerned, the theory of the Wii controller isn't that complicated as we thought it would be. It utilizes the motion sensing technology to finish the whole game conducting. Your velocity and position would survey accurate to video game console via Bluetooth build-in controller. Being much for convenient, the Wii controller is designed to be suitable for either hand, rather than the traditional one-handed remote control-based. And it's also possible for one to play a single-player game with a Wii Remote in each hand. This was done to make motion sensitivity more intuitive, as a remote design is fitted perfectly for pointing, and in part to help the console appeal to a broader audience that includes non-gamers, such as me.

However, when we are in the thrill of the enjoyment brought by the Wii controller, we need to be clear that things have two sides. The same knife cuts bread and fingers. The remote controller helped society develop and in the same time bring the convenience to our life. But also have led some country civilization into a "lazy" society. People, especially the younger generation, are becoming more and more dependent on the "tools", which may help them save a lot of energy to do things. I think that's why more and more people are striving their hearts out to create a servant robot. And I strongly believe that in the near future, the only two things we need to do on our own are sleeping and eating.
