However everyone was skeptical about Nintendo�s waning contribution to the gaming world, especially with the rise Sony�s Playstation 3 and Microsoft�s Xbox 360. However Nintendo makes a comeback with the Wii, a video game console completely different from its main competition, the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. The Nintendo Wii specializes in motion response. The controls in the Wii are based on the motions of the user. The console accomplishes to detect these motions with the help of the Wii Remote, the primary wireless joystick of the console. The video game console is named Wii for its short and easy to pronounce nature. The name also suggests the population of gamers that Nintendo aims to cover with the Wii, especially among groups like families; hence Wii is a world play for �We� in a plural sense. The demographic that Wii covers is more than that of the Playstation 3 and the Xbox 360. While developing the Wii, Nintendo took note of the desire to get as many people to play video games. While previously video games were considered often a child/teen�s thing and hence video game consoles were marketed to this specific population, the Wii expands this market into a much larger one where people who are parents, grandparents, teachers etc can play games too. The Wii Remote and Nunchuk offer a new kind of gaming control system that has never been released for any other game consoles. However, the sensitivity of the Wii Remote is an issue that many gamers face. Its sensitivity is restricted and in many games predetermined also. Hence, while the idea of real time motion controls sounds like innovative and entertaining, it is not completely perfect which is why this feature is only satisfactory.
