Nintendo Wii: 3 Top Christmas Games - Business - Sales

You won't find these games on any other console or PC, which is why Nintendo's little box of tricks earns its place under the family Christmas tree.

It's clear that Wii is not competing on the same terms as PlayStation 3 and xbox 360 ,so is the Nintendo Wii Accessories. If you're after high-definition gaming with extensive online benefits the Wii is bottom of the pile. However Nintendo turned gaming on its head with its amazing motion-sensing remote controller and the world's best studios are yet to exhaust its potential. You may not have DVD or Blu-ray to enjoy movies, but BBC iPlayer is among the console's online channels that are fun to use, including quality download games.

Here's our pick of the bunch for Christmas on Nintendo Wii:

1.New Super Mario Bros Wii.This is one aspect of the design of the dstt that has been done very well; other cards such as the original R4 fell into disuse because firmware was not updated anymore after a year or two. However, the dstt team has a vested interest in keeping the software up to date due to the sales of the newer dstti - thus the original dstt benefits from this.

Nintendo built its fortune on Super Mario, and the little guy's latest mission is full of riches. Basic actions are run, jump and bottom-bounce to navigate puzzle-filled worlds and defeat wily foes. But it's the seamless interweaving of Wii Remote Controllermagic that makes this adventure a dream to play, more so when you're jostling alongside three of your pals to grab helicopter hats, penguin suits and other super powers.

2.Wii Sports Resort

Maybe the adults will leave this excursion to the household youngsters, but it's an entertaining spectacle all the same. Newcomers to Wii get this in the box, but early adopters shouldn't resist buying the standalone version out of principle. Events have more of a dramatic theme than in the standard Wii Sports, with mountain biking, sword fighting, sky diving and canoeing among the many highlights.

3.Nintendo wii fit plus

If you already own the Balance Board, adding to your exercising options is fairly cheap at 19.99 RRP. There are genuine health benefits to following routines suggested by the latest game, which include new sensibly chosen Yoga exercises and muscle workouts. Confident users can tailor their own schedule to suit. If you prefer to work up a sweat with a smile the 15 new mini-games are superb.
